Six in the morning to ten at night, seven days, one kitchen. This is the whole of it, chapter by chapter.
The story
Dune Lane runs one block back from the water and nobody finds it by accident. That was the point. The rent is honest, the light is extraordinary from about half seven, and the people who come are the people who meant to.
All of them inside forty kilometres. Bread from a bakery eleven minutes away, coffee roasted in the next suburb, fish off a boat this morning rather than a truck last night. Short supply lines are not a marketing line, they are the reason the food tastes like it does.
The roller door goes up before the light does. Bread lands at twenty to six, the grinder gets dialled in against a shot that changes with the humidity, and there are three people on the footpath before the lights are properly on.
Between ten and midday the room slows right down and nobody is moved off a table. This is the hour the terrace earns its keep, and the hour we would pick if we were eating here instead of working here.
Thursday to Saturday the room changes hands at five. Same kitchen, different music, thirty bottles out from under the counter and the lamps down low. No last orders bell. When the last table is finished, we are finished.

Before you ask
Yes, for tables of two to six. Half the room stays open for walk-ins every service, so without a booking you will usually be seated inside fifteen minutes.
On the terrace, always. Water bowls live by the door and there is shade over most of it by ten in the morning.
Most of the menu can be adjusted and the kitchen is happy to. Tell us when you book so we can plan for it rather than improvise on the day.
Not after six, Thursday to Saturday. Those evenings run on walk-ins. Come early and you will get a table; come at eight on a Friday and you may wait twenty minutes with a glass in hand.
